The first piece I ever tried to make was an Air Jordan 1 Black toe on this long shelf made out of particle board. I was looking at the piece (which I still have today) and was thinking, "I wonder what it would look like if I were to make that now?." In honor of the OG Chicago one coming out that weekend, I decided to make the piece.
The really crazy part of the Jordan 1 is the way the pieces of leather come together in the ankle area. In order to replicate the real deal, I had to start on 3 different panels at the same time in order to make sure that certain panels overlapped other panels in the right areas
Once I finished the base layer of stringing, I knew that this would be one of my favorite pieces to date. I added the Wings logo and laced it up and it came out absolutely incredible. The piece was quickly purchased by an awesome client on Instagram and as for the Chicago 1 OG launch that weekend... lets just say I'm STILL waiting on that Nike.com Launch lol.
